What can I tell you about me? I’m insatiably curious about most things – I need to know how things work. Is it any surprise that I’m an engineer? 🙂
I grew up sailing, swimming and fishing in and on Lake Champlain
in upstate VT. When I wasn’t doing those things, I was most likely trying to write code on my beloved VIC-20
or C-64. From there I went to engineering school at RPI, receiving my degree in materials engineering. After working at Alcoa as a metallurgist for a few years, I decided it was time for a career change and went to work in IT and have never looked back.
Along the way I met and married my beautiful wife and we added two amazing daughters to our family. They’ve grown up way too fast, and are now either heading to or thinking about college. Scary stuff.
Now that I’m an engineering manager, I really wish I knew 20 years ago what I know now. It’s been a long and winding road, but I wouldn’t trade any of it. Great friends have been made and great experiences have been had along the way.
If you enjoy my blog, or even if you don’t, please leave comments – I’d love to hear from you!
